Bureo was founded on our desire to find solutions to prevent ocean plastic pollution, inspire future generations and initiate social change. Our work has allowed us to contribute to a broad movement working towards protecting our oceans and environment. We are proud to align our mission with this movement, and to now make a difference through our life’s work. We are driven by a need to succeed in order to expand our collection and recycling program. The impact of our mission goes beyond removing waste; it extends to the individuals that are influenced by our products and path.
In 2014, Red Bull TV approached us to be featured in a short film project, “Creators of Tomorrow”. It was an opportunity to share our story, and take a close look into our team and programs. Filmed over the course of 2015, the film followed our journey from California to Chile. We hope you enjoy a unique perspective into the Bureo family life, which profiles the birth of ‘The Ahi’ skateboard with our partners at Carver Skateboards. Thanks to the whole team at Carver for believing in the project and taking a chance to elevate our mission!
To the Red Bull film team, ‘Un Abrazo Grande’! Thanks for joining us for the ride in 2015: Conny Lechner, Jeffrey Plunkett, Michael Lockridge, Peter Alton, Jeremy Childers, Tuomas Hakala, Maximilian Haidbauer, Gabor Harrach, and Lance Nichols; you all rock and we had a blast!
